About Camp Horizon

Camp Horizon was first held in 2005 and is the creation of Lindsey Sharpe, a Physical Therapist at T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger Medical Center. Lindsey saw a need for her patients to experience life without the limitations that their physical handicaps imposed upon them. So, for one weekend each year, campers are invited to step outside their limits and challenge their horizons in the outdoor environment with other kids with similar issues.

Camp Horizon is recognized as a Tennessee based charity corporation and is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit charity. Donations are an important part of being able to put on Camp Horizon year after year. None of our volunteers or campers pay any sort of fees to attend camp for the weekend. We rely on donations from individuals and corporations to provide our services. Previous donors have included the Peyback Foundation, the Wal-Mart Foundation, the Junior League of Chattanooga, the Scripps Foundation, Henley Medical, PPS Orthotics, The Pediatrix Group, Friends of Special Children, and several others.
