Our Story
In 2005, when it was just a dream, Lindsey Sharpe and a small group of volunteers made it a reality. They wanted to create a space that kids of all abilities could experience summer camp!
Camp Horizon Begins
In 2005 we started with 11 campers and about 20 volunteers. These families trusted us to keep their kids safe and have fun. Several of these campers had never spent the night away from their family!
20 years later…
In 2025 we celebrated our 20th Birthday with 35 campers and over 60 volunteers! Through the years Camp Horizon has grown through word of mouth and shared experiences. None of this would be possibly without the support of the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga PT, OT and nursing programs as well as the therapy staff at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger and numbers community and private donors. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of some pretty special kids!
